Concerned buildings will receive door hangers to notify occupants 48 hours in advance.

    When : From November 23 to November 25, 2020, on night, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

    Nature of the work
Work on water supply networks with localized water service interruptions at night.

The planning and scheduling of work operations may be subject to change based on weather conditions and unexpected work site contingencies.

Planned work operations – week of November 30 to December 6, 2020

Rue Sainte-Catherine Ouest, between Robert-Bourassa and De Bleury
Lot 1A – Work on roads and sidewalks

The first section (Lot 1A) of the Sainte-Catherine Redevelopment Project is 99 per cent complete! Due to the pandemic, procurement schedules for tree grates and gutters have been subject to delays. In the meantime, temporary wooden protections have been added. The gradual installation of grates, as the city receives them, will have a negligible impact on car traffic and will mark the end of work operations.

    Benefits of the project

The new development, with only one traffic lane and on-street parking removed, prioritizes an improved pedestrian experience. The sidewalks have been widened by 60 percent to give pedestrians more space, and wider sidewalks will also make it possible to install seasonal terraces. The addition of street furniture offers more options for relaxation, while the increased vegetation cover will make for a more pleasant walking experience and help curb heat island effects at the height of summer. The new development also integrates a range of intelligent systems. The Sainte-Catherine Ouest, as a result, is a more people-friendly thoroughfare that greatly improves the downtown pedestrian experience!

Thank you for your patience and collaboration.
